You've done the work. Your Math score is at or near the top, and your Reading & Writing score has stalled in the high 600s. More practice tests won't fix that. At this level, the questions that separate a 690 from a 750+ are a different kind of question, and they need a different kind of preparation.

 

The 700 Wall is a teacher-led course built only for advanced students. Every passage is advanced level, every question is original, and we don't spend a single minute on easy material. Over ten weeks, students learn the analytical method behind each question type and then put it to work under timed conditions until it holds up on test day.

Built by people who write the material

Everything in this course was written in-house by IES Test Prep. We've run SAT courses for 25 years and published 17 SAT titles on Amazon. Students won't see recycled practice-book questions or anything they've already worked through elsewhere. The course has 364 original questions, and no question appears twice.

What students get

• Instruction on every question type. Each week has an hour-plus lecture that teaches the analytical skill behind specific question types: how the question is built, how its wrong answers are built, and how to spot the correct one with confidence instead of narrowing it to two and guessing.

• Timed opening drills. Each class opens with a timed set of advanced reading comprehension questions covering that week's types. Students apply the method under pressure before the lecture begins.

• Timed closing drills. Each class closes with a 20-question timed set on vocabulary and transitions, the two areas where high scorers lose points they shouldn't.

• Every type, every domain. The course covers central ideas, purpose, structure, inference, evidence, claims, paired texts, graphs and tables, and more. Passages range across literature, history, social science, and the natural sciences.

• A diagnostic and a final test. Students take a 42-question diagnostic in Week 1 and a separate 42-question final in Week 10, with no shared questions. Both are timed, and both follow the course's advanced focus.

• No time on what you've already mastered. Students at this level don't struggle with grammar conventions, so we don't teach them. All 20 hours go to the skills that actually hold them back.

Who it's for

This course is for students with an official SAT Reading & Writing score of 690 or higher, or an IES diagnostic score of 690 or higher. Enrollment is limited to 12 students so every class stays focused, fast-paced, and interactive.

Format

Ten weekly two-hour in-person sessions at IES Test Prep, Metuchen, NJ. All drills, tests, and course materials are provided in class.
