Service Description
The Long Game: Reading & Rhetoric Fridays, 6–7 p.m. · January 8 – May 21, 2027 · 20 weeks 335 Main St, Metuchen For students in grades 9 and 10. The strongest SAT readers aren't made in a six-week cram. They're made over years of reading closely, weighing arguments and noticing exactly what a writer has and hasn't proven. The Long Game starts that work early. Taught by IES co-owners Arianna and Khalid or by the IES teaching staff they trained, drawing on more than 25 years of running SAT courses. How the course works Each class centers on a complete argument drawn from the science and social-science writing that now dominates the Digital SAT. Students build vocabulary in context, read closely, map how the argument is built, and then carry its logic into new situations. Along the way they learn to follow an argument's structure, spot when a claim is qualified or conceded, and separate what the evidence shows from what it only suggests. Classes are capped at 15 students. What's included • A matched Diagnostic and Final, so growth shows up skill by skill rather than as a single number • Every reading delivered inside the course portal, with nothing extra to buy • A natural pairing with The Bedrock, which meets right before on Fridays, 5–6 p.m., for a complete verbal foundation Bundle and save Enroll in two or three Foundations courses (The Bedrock, The Long Game and The Keystone) for a bundle discount.
